The Great Race is a 1965 American Technicolor slapstick comedy movie star doodly-squat Jack Lemmon, Tony William Curtis, and Natalie Wood, direct by William Blake Jonathan Edwards. Leslie is the authoritative hero – ever dress in white, fine-looking, ever-courteous, tremendously talented and successful. Leslie’s nemesis, destiny, is the traditional melodramatic scoundrel – normally dress in black, sport a black mustache and top hat, glower at most everyone, maniac immorality laughter, grandiose plan to queer the hero, and chase by failure.
