Hub Halloran, a rugged bounty hunter who spent most of his life tracking fugitives through remote backwoods areas, experiences the impossible when he mysteriously returns from the dead. Given an unexpected second chance at life, he begins to think about rebuilding the parts of his past he once neglected. Old feelings about love resurface, and he even considers reviving the musical dreams he abandoned long ago. But the world he returns to is not quite the same as the one he left behind. As Hub steps back into his old profession, he quickly realizes that his work has taken on a far darker and stranger dimension.
